There should be no doubt that this is absolutely of world quality. It ticks each and every box with its deep colour, evocative bouquet smelling of ‘old money’ (in wine terms), a long and velvety palate, the finish simply wanting you to start the process over again. Rating: 95 Drink To: 2032
The Langton’s Classification is ‘Outstanding’.
“Made from four Concongella Shiraz clone blocks (planted in 1966, 1970, 1992 and 1994), the generously perfumed and voluminous Best’s Great Western Bin 0 Shiraz is one of Australia’s oldest trademarked wines. Open fermented and matured for 18 months in new (20%) and seasoned French oak barriques and hogsheads, it is exemplified by blackberry, mulberry and dried rose aromas, loose-knit, gravelly tannins and underlying savoury oak”
